SIP Customs Work Overtime during Holiday to Ensure Speedy Clearance

During the 7-day Spring Festival holiday, Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Customs had inspected and released 7,380 tons of cargoes, exercised control over 169 million US dollars worth of cargo, processed 1,693 declarations, and examined 14,311 vehicles upon entry and exit.

In order to maintain normal customs clearance during the national holiday, SIP Customs arranged 146 person/times overtime and two extra workdays in addition to the holiday plan set up by Nanjing Customs so as to provide such quality services as Channel F, instant inspection upon arrival of cargo, and quick release after examination. To cope with the possible emergencies, local customs set up an emergency response plan and opened 24-hour call service. As a result, the local import and export trades were not affected by the country-wide celebrations of the year's most important holiday.
