Loufeng Town Realizes 100% Urbanization

With the steady progress of urbanization, the last villages in Loufeng Town of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) have become urban communities. With the approval of the municipal government, eight villages located in Chefang area are replaced by five community resident committees, which means there is no more rural population in Loufeng Town.

The adjustment of administrative divisions meets the urgent needs of economic and social integration of urban and rural areas. After five years of continuous development, Chefang, a rural area incorporated into SIP in 2004, has achieved 100% urbanization rate. More than 20,000 farmers of 5,000 rural families have moved to new residential quarters and become urban residents.
