Bookcrossing program tours to primary schools and kindergartens

Initiated by SIP Publicity Department in 2016 and organized by Dushu Lake Library for the purpose of increasing local residents' zest in reading, the Bird's Nest Bookcrossing program toured to Hanlin and Wencui primary schools, Hanlin and Hualin kindergartens as well as Dushu Lake School in the fourth week of December.

In the event, Chinese and foreign teachers told stories based on picture books to the children. The library staff organized a series of DIY sessions, where the children made non-woven hats and greeting cards for their teachers and parents.

As the highlight of the event, a book donation was held. The children put their books into the "Bird's Nest" made of cartons to share them with others.
