Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR) Health Service Town recently appeared on the List of First Characteristic Towns in Suzhou, becoming another characteristic town in SIP following Dongshahu Funds Town, which was identified as a "Characteristic Town in Jiangsu Province" in early May. This provides impetus for SIP to reinforce its support for towns of this kind.

SIP believes that characteristic towns play an important part in local industrial transformation, upgrading and innovation by driving the development of local competitive industries and integrating resources. For example, YLPTR has set up a model for incorporating sports and health services with tourism.

For the next step, SIP will make greater efforts to help the characteristic towns concentrate resources, improve their functions and highlight their features while extending their good practices across the area.
