Wusong community of Shengpu sub-district, SIP recently organized an event to celebrate the Winter Solstice Festival, which, the 22nd of 24 Chinese Solar Terms, fell on Dec 22 this year. At the event, a number of social organization staff, CPC members, volunteers and residents made rice glue balls (symbol of family reunion in traditional Chinese culture) together

The event went on in a joyous atmosphere. Following Chinese traditions, the participants made about 1,000 rice glue balls using glutinous rice flour and various fillings they prepared in collaboration with each other.

At the suggestion of a local resident, the participants gave some of the rice glue balls together with their blessings to the elderlies who live alone in the community.
