SIP performers stage folk dance in CCTV show
A team of performers from SIP Shengpu Sub-district Culture and Sports Center recently had one of its folk performances videoed for Little Hands in Big Hands, a popular children's show of China Central Television (CCTV).
The performance, entitled Love for Suzhou, incorporated elements of Shengpu folk songs, which were identified as intangible cultural heritage of Jiangsu province in 2009, and lianxiang dance, a traditional Chinese folk dance performed by dancers in traditional costume with bamboo or wooden sticks in hands.
In the event, the performers fully embodied the essence and charm of the traditional Chinese art based on their rich performing experience acquired by attending various art events home and abroad as well as through their passionate expression.
It is expected that the show will be broadcasted on CCTV14 during the Chinese Spring Festival in mid-February, 2018.
