Hudong sub-district recently saw a variety of events designed to harmonize the relations between the local residents.

Aoyun Community hosted a DIY event on Dec 19, when 10 families made pastries using fermented glutinous rice and sweetened bean paste with the help of a volunteer pastry cook. The cook also imparted knowledge on the origin of the Suzhou-style pastry and its functions in keeping healthy to the participants.

Qingnianhui Community organized a party on Dec 20. The residents shared dishes and had a pleasant chat with each other.

In Shuimo Community, a parent-child cooking competition took place on Dec 17. More than 10 families participated, showcasing excellent cooking skills. After the evaluation by a number of resident jurors, Ding Yiran and his mother took the first place.

Zhongyue Community hosted a party on Dec 21, offering the residents a chance to share their home-made dishes and enhance their interactions with each other.

In Donghu Dajun Community, an art show consisting of nine performances like dancing, singing, taiji boxing exercises and fashion show was staged on Dec 24. The participants also donated money to a little girl plagued by congenital heart disease.
