Hudong Sub-district recently saw various events designed to give a leg-up for juveniles' growth and raise public awareness of juvenile protection.

A number of children at Shuanghuwan Community made Chinese New Year pictures using woodcut moulds. An expert in woodcut picture making (a traditional Chinese relief printing technique) imparted related knowledge and skills to the children. With the help and instructions of the expert, the children printed Chinese character "Fu" (meaning happiness and luck) on pieces of red paper and decorated them into beautiful pictures.

Lanxi Community held a biscuit DIY event on Dec 23 to mark the upcoming Christmas. Children first learnt finger exercises from a volunteer, then they introduced themselves and showcased their talents. Following that, they made biscuits of different shapes like Christmas hats, stockings, sweets and snowflakes with the help of a pastry teacher.

Donghu Dajun Community launched a campaign against school bullying on Dec 22. The community staff guided the children to discuss school bullying as well as taught them how to respond to it. At last, they handed out Manual on School Bullying Prevention to all the participants.

Volunteers from Lingrui Community and Xingtao Community gave performances and Charismas gifts to a number of poverty-stricken children at Xietang Sub-district on Dec 23, spending several happy hours with them.
