Different people have different ideas about what a humanistic city is. For the purpose of encouraging local residents and tourists to find and share the humanistic content of SIP with cellphone or camera, SIP Humanistic Photography and Writing Competition 2016 was kicked off in September. The event was sponsored by SIP Cultural and Sports Festival Organizing Committee and organized by SIP Culture Centre, SIP Release and Su Yuan Liu Ji (a documentary series on Suzhou gardens).

The photography competition has up to present received over 300 works and more than 80,000 visits from cellphone mobile terminals. The deadline for contribution is the end of December.

In the eyes of every contributor, the beautiful stories of humanistic SIP can be found everywhere in their daily life, be it reading, visiting exhibitions, school life or public service.

By means of photographs of SIP's characteristic landscapes and humanistic activities, the competition is meant to showcase SIP's development achievements, its city life and cultural activities over the past two decades. The photos also interpret SIP's humanistic spirit through the multi-perspective and all-round recording of SIP's urban elements.

During the period of the competition, the organizer uploaded the photos to the Internet, selected and shared outstanding works on a weekly basis, and held many prize drawing events to encourage contribution and repost.

Before the deadline, residents and tourists can take part by sending "digital photo + name + phone number + caption + short article (15-140 words)" to zry@yayasm.com or "Su Yuan Liu Ji" WeChat official account.
