Customers flood into Eslite Spectrum Suzhou Store as the front doors open on November 29.

Taiwan bookshop Eslite expanded its business into Chinese mainland with the opening of its first shop in Suzhou on November 29. The Suzhou branch is named "Eslite Spectrum Suzhou Store". The flagship store in Chinese mainland covers a construction area of 56,000 square meters on two floors. Eslite Spectrum Suzhou Store is positioned as a "tasteful life-style museum for quality reading and innovative exploration". Besides the five main sections which are divided by book genres in Eslite Spectrum Suzhou Store, there are four "feature spaces", used for either a visual laboratory, a tea bar, for lectures, or for displaying cooking instructions, as well as three "attached" shops, such as Eslite Children. 150,000 different books from over 2,000 publishers all over the world are sold in Eslite Spectrum Suzhou Store. An around-the-clock service is the primary character of Taiwan Eslite in most Eslite fans' minds. However, as Eslite staff explained, only one Eslite branch in Taipei adopts a 24/7 operating mode. The Suzhou branch is open from 10.00 to 22.00.
