Tiancheng Volunteers Throw a Farewell Party to Marina and Her Family

Marina Gianluca from Italy is famous at Tiancheng Residential Community in Suzhou Industrial Park for serving the neighborhood for six years and for her adoption of a Chinese boy, Luke. The family of four is heading back to Italy since her husband, Mapelli Gianluca, was transferred to another post at home. On learning the news, the volunteers threw a good-bye party for her on December 23, using vegetable juice for dough and making beautiful dumplings for the family.

During Chinese New Year in 2011, while she did volunteer work in Shanghai, Marina took care of a baby boy who was severely ill and abandoned by his parents. She was with him during the surgery and became attached to the boy. In order to give him a secured future, Marina discussed with her husband and decided to adopt the kid. They named the boy Luke, who is now a member of a happy family of four.
