Yang Zhiping, Deputy Secretary of CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee, Director of SIP Administrative Committee, and leader of SIP Sports Center Construction Leading Team, inspected the construction site of SIP Sports Center on the morning of December 21 accompanied by chief Zhang Jian of planning and construction bureau.

He went to see the foundation pit for the service building and asked about the progress of stadium, gymnasium, and swimming hall. Chairman & President Lu Guoliang of the Sports Center gave visiting officials a briefing about the project.

Yang said the center was a big and difficult project, posing lots of challenges to the contractors. He urged them to make quality and safety their top priorities. "The management should start to consider the operation and business scope of the center," he said. "You should make sure that this is a public service facility and at the same time should make full use of its functions for its sustainability."
