SIP Publicizes WeChat Account on Media Day 2014
Suzhou Industrial Park Publicity (Spiritual Civilization) Office held a media day at Phoenix Culture Plaza on the afternoon of December 14, publicizing SIP's official account on social network WeChat.
Based on modern technology and through years of continuous efforts, SIP has created a comprehensive new media system with portal site of SIP government as foundation, micro-blog and WeChat accounts on top, and mobile applications, newspapers, and magazines in the middle. The highlights include the official website of SIP Administrative Committee (www.sipac.gov.cn), SIP's official microblog (weibo.com/sipacnc), "The Marvelous City of SIP" App, "SIP Today" column of Suzhou Daily, "Jinji Lake, a Panorama" Magazine, and SIP Life Weekly. With the influence of Internet-based media steadily growing in recent years, the publicity authority pools media resource and emphasizes the interaction and integration of old and new media to launch a series of brand promotion campaigns.
On the Media Day, many lined in front of background plates waiting for their turn to get pictures taken. Subscribing to SIP's public WeChat account (sipacnc) and sending your pictures, you'll have them printed out and be qualified for the lucky draw.
SIP government opened a WeChat account in May 2013 and this is the first public account run by a county/district government in Suzhou. During past 18 months, the account recorded 18,400 subscribers, 60,000 people/time readings and 3,600 reposts of the most popular post, and daily readings of 5,000 people/times on average. After the upgrade in August this year, it has more functions and realizes more effective communications.
The office also took the chance to get feedback from subscribers, to listen to their proposals, to promote both online and offline interactions, and to publicize SIP's media system and its brand influence.
