About 350 people from 32 enterprises in SIP’s Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR) took part in a plogging on Dec 7. They set off from YLPTR’s Xinghua Street Tourist Center, jogging five kilometers and picking up litter all the way through.
Plogging, named by combining “jogging” and Swedish phrase “plocka upp” (meaning “pick up”), is a globally popular fitness and environmental protection movement. It started as an organized activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution.

In the event, the participants wearing uniform vest and gloves picked up used tissues, cigarette boxes, mineral water bottles, packing bags and other trash they found on the way, and sorted them and put them into different trash cans at the terminal. They also played games in which they acquired very useful knowledge on garbage classification and environmental protection.
