Sponsored by Suzhou Tourism Federation and organized by Suzhou Qianteng Silk Exhibition Co Ltd, the 2019 Suzhou International Tourism Expo (SZITE) took place at Suzhou International Expo Centre, SIP from Mar 8 to 10. More than 300 tourist service providers showcased their most popular products and services covering food, travel, shopping and entertainment.

The event offered SIP a good opportunity to show its achievements in developing "all-for-one tourism", a concept encouraging tourism development based on integrated resources. Its about-600-square-meter pavilion at the expo was full of exhibits from Jinji Lake Scenic Area (JLSA), a 5A-class national scenic spot, Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR), a national tourist resort boasting integrated development of tourism, sports and healthcare, and a number of upscale hotels.

For example, JLSA introduced to the visitors its top 10 tourist attractions including the Gate of the Orient, Suzhou Center, Jinji Lake Music Fountain, Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, Moon Harbor, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, Suzhou International Financial Center, Wanghujiao Eco-garden, Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block and Jinji Lake Bridge.

Besides, the visitors also had the chance to know better about the traditional handicrafts of Suzhou-style folding fans, nut carvings, embroidery, K'o-ssu (a traditional technique in Chinese silk tapestry) and Taohuawu New Year woodcut prints. Some of them even tried to create their own works following the demonstration and instruction of the craftspeople.
