Recently, 42 adorable and colorful dog sculptures standing at the entrance of Xinghua Street, Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR) have attracted the attention of many people. They are actually the exhibits at the "Good Fortune Dogs" Installation Art Exhibition, one of the winter events hosted by YLPTR.

According to a YLPTR official, the exhibits are designed to mark the Year of Dog in Chinese Zodiac, which, based on Chinese lunar calendar, is a 12-year cycle with a symbolic animal sign in each year.

"The exhibition is scheduled to last for more than two months, spanning Christmas, New Year's Day and Chinese Spring Festival. Therefore, both their colors and looks were elaborately designed to add to the festive atmosphere," the person said.
