In accordance with the 2016 Rankings of Countries and Cities for International Association Meetings released by International　Congress　and　Convention　Association (ICCA), China ranked 8th by holding 410 international meetings in 2016, with Suzhou ranking 216th among global cities by holding 12 such events, four of which were at Suzhou Jinji Lake International Convention Centre.

For the first time, Suzhou ranked among China's top 10 destinations for international conferences, an indication that the city is taking a nationwide lead in development of convention and exhibition industry.
