Orienteering Association of China Open (OAC-Open) 2016 is to have a new round of competition in Suzhou Yangchenghu Tourist Resort (SYTR) on Dec 3 and 4.

The event will see professional orienteering athletes compete in the professional division, and outdoor sports lovers share the fun of orienteering in the fitness division.

Depending on a map, a compass and a finger card, the athletes head for a designated target, and this is orienteering. Originated in Sweden over a century ago, orienteering is an internationally recognized "sport of the wise". SYTR first introduced orienteering in 2014, and the sport, which is natural, leisurely, healthy, smart and interesting, has diversified people's experiences and added color to peninsula tourism.

Going orienteering on Yangcheng Lake Peninsula will be a perfect journey; its beautiful environment, clean air, rough road and complex terrain bring a feeling of freshness and mystery, and effectively stimulate the potential of various organ systems. Taking part in the sport, the competitor's abilities to walk, run, jump, negotiate obstacles, and physical qualities like endurance, speed, strength, flexibility, agility, will all be enhanced to some extent.

In order to encourage public participation, the organizer "customized" the fitness division for the local residents. The fitness division combines cycling with orienteering for the first time, and sets up orienteering rainbow run and bicycle orienteering run that are fit for parents-children, couples and families.
