Suzhou Industrial Park Service Development Bureau presented 16 trade companies at the Spring Business Promotion held on December 18 in Shanghai, trying to attract more people to come to SIP.

Suzhou has always been known as the "backyard" of Shanghai. SIP has many tourist attractions as well as business complexes and cultural facilities attractive to people from surrounding cities, including Yangchenghu Peninsula, Ligongdi, Old Xietang Street, Moon Harbor, Harmony Times Square, Jiuguang Department Store, Incity Plaza, Harmony Constellation Shopping Center, Yi Ou Lai Suzhou Village, and Suzhou Culture & Arts Center.

The bureau announced four tour routes customized especially for visitors from Shanghai for the spring in 2015, an eco-trip for families to spend some quality time together, a tour for couples in love, an art and culture journey, and a special one for gourmets. During the 53rd World Table Tennis Championships and Jinji Lake International Half-Marathon 2015, there will also be theme programs for tourists. Yi Ou Lai, Eslite Suzhou, and Mitsukoshi also announced their plans for 2015.

SIP has invested in several functional areas of finance and business, education and innovation, international trade, and tourist resort. As a result, the Jinji Lake area has become a rising business and culture center, and was recognized as China's only 5A business travel resort in July 2012. As the country's first "National Pilot Area on Business Travel", SIP recorded total retail sales of social consumer goods of 27.85 billion yuan in 2013, increasing by 16.2% over the previous year.
