More than 300 orienteers from Sweden, Hong Kong, and mainland China gathered at Lotus Pond Park of Yangcheng Lake Peninsula in Suzhou Industrial Park on November 29 for National Cross-Country Orienteering Invitation 2014. The 47 teams show their team work, physical strength, and orienteering skills during the two-day competition.

There are three categories of short distance, 100 meters, and three-person mixed team. Some of the orienteers are professionals and winners at the world and Asian championships, and some teams attended the O-Ringen, previously known as the "Swedish 5 days", which is the most important orienteering competition in the world.

The competition started at nine in spite of the drizzle and the orienteers headed toward the finish line with control card, map, and compass, competing in groups of elites, adults, youth, families, and foreign students.

Jonas and his three team members are professional orienteers from Sweden. He spoke highly of the terrain, saying the place was beautiful and he would find time to take a walk by the lake. He also hoped Chinese orienteers would go to Sweden for annual O-Ringen.
