The National Tourism Administration recently certified Suzhou Industrial Park as the first "National Pilot Area of Tourism Standardization" in Jiangsu Province.

In 2013, SIP received 488,300 foreign tourists and earned 341,927,400 US dollars, increasing by 29.01% and 36.74% respectively over the previous year. The number of domestic tourists totaled at 6,189,600 and that of domestic revenue reached 9,714 million yuan, growing by 16.32% and 15.51%. In total, SIP harvested 11.831 billion yuan from tourism, which was 18.36% higher than the previous year.

SIP plans to improve long-term management system, to promote integrated development of tourism, business, culture, sports, and exhibition, and to serve as a role model in the market.
