Thousand-artist symphony concert to mark 70th birthday of the PRC

About 100 artists including five renowned Chinese conductors, four singers, four symphony orchestras and six choirs gave a stunning symphony concert at Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre, SIP on Oct 13 to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
 
The event, gathering a host of top-notch artists from Suzhou, Shanghai and other cities, brought about a great audio-visual feast for nearly 6,000 audiences. It is reported that the tickets had been sold out about one week before the concert. 
 
At the event, the artists performed a list of songs including the “Ode to Red Flag”, “Defend the Yellow River” and “Ode to the Motherland” to eulogize the country’s prosperous development over the past 70 years.
 
It is noteworthy that SIP-based Suzhou Symphony Orchestra and its music director Chen Xieyang, a renowned Chinese conductor, joined the performances.
