Twelve art troupes consisting of elderlies and retiree service staff from around Suzhou gave wonderful performances at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, SIP on Sept 12 to celebrate the upcoming 32nd Suzhou Day for the Elderly that will fall on Oct 7, and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

 

It is learnt that Suzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Suzhou Social Insurance Fund Management Center jointly host a show of the kind each year to offer the local senior citizens a chance to showcase their artistic talents and encourage them to pursue a happy and colorful life in their twilight years.

 

In the event, the performers staged songs, dances, traditional operas and poetry recitation, bringing about a great audio-visual feast for the audiences.
