The 1st SIP Jinji Lake Poetry Reading Competition preliminaries kicked off in SIP on July 13, consisting of two adults’ rivalries and two youngsters’ ones over the following four days to select 40 finalists.
It is reported that a recitation was held in March as a lead-up to the event, and SIP Library opened a “Reading Pavilion” in April for participants to shoot videos for an online audition before the preliminaries. Statistics record about 1,000 entries from local communities, schools, enterprises and public institutions.
Twenty-five individuals and eight teams competed in the first-day event, where they read ancient and modern poems with emotion. The list of finalists will be released at SIP Administrative Committee’ s website before July 30.
