Several communities in SIP’s Loufeng Sub-district organized events on July 9, aiming to enrich local youngsters’ summer vacation with new knowledge and skills.

In the event at Yangdonglu Community, the participating youngsters first watched a video about a list of ancient poems that portray the beauty of Suzhou, then drew pictures of the city and presented them to the others.

Jingyuanbei Community hosted a DIY event where the volunteer teacher explained in detail the meaning of an ancient poem to the participating youngsters and taught them to make collages based on the poem.

Wencuilu Community offered a lecture to help the local youngsters and their parents gain a better knowledge of the history of the Communist Party of China and taught them to make traditional Chinese decorative knots with colored cords.

Jinyi Community offered a public lecture on Chinese chess, where the youngsters learnt chess skills from Xu Jianmiao, a renowned Chinese chess player, and played chess in pairs using the skills.
