Zhang Weiqiang, also known as Johnny W. Chang, a multi-award-winning Suzhou-native ballet master who once served at the National Ballet of China and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet as a principal dancer, gave training to the dancers at Suzhou Ballet Theatre (SBT) from June 30 to July 6, trying to help them improve their dancing skills.

It is reported that SBT started in 2014 to invite outer ballet artists to give lessons to its performers as a supplement to its in-house training.

“It has proven to be an effective way for our performers to know better about other performing styles and art concepts so that they can continuously enrich their own performances,” SBT’s art director Pan Jiabin said.
