The event held at SIP’s Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre on Apr 14 offered the local art enthusiasts a good chance to know better about Chen Yifei (1946-2005), a renowned Chinese classic-style painter, art director, film director and entrepreneur. In the event, Chen Yiming, Chen Yifei’s younger brother who is apt at oil painting, gave the participants a chronological account of his brother’s life experiences and the artistic concepts and styles he embraced. 

In the event, Chen Yiming showed the participants a variety of painting works including sketches, watercolors, traditional Chinese paintings and oil paintings when telling the stories about his brother’s study and art creation experiences, and shared with them his views on his brother’s artistic attainments and the characteristics of his works.

It is noteworthy that an exhibition opened at Jinji Lake Art Museum the day before the event, showcasing over 100 paintings by the Chen brothers. The exhibition is coupled with several art popularization activities to help the participants learn more about classic artworks and offer them chances to try their hands on painting.
