SIP Hudong Sub-district Party Working Committee and SIP Telecommunications Office jointly hosted a news briefing on Mar 17, announcing to launch in Lingdong Community a project that will make local residents the first across Suzhou city to get access to ultra-fast broadband network.

It is reported that China Telecom, one of China's biggest telecom companies, will undertake the project to upgrade its network services for users in several residential quarters and help new subscribers join its network.

The ultra-fast broadband, based on the company’s gigabit Ethernet technology, enables the download of a 10GB movie in 90 seconds. Besides, it supports perfect connections with mobile phones, televisions, computers and smart devices to give users fantastic remote communication and man-machine interaction experiences.

The event included a lucky draw where four families in the community had the luck to enjoy the network free of charge for six months.
