SIP Market Supervision Bureau (SIPMSB) recently organized a series of events to mark the World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) that is observed annually on Mar 15 to raise global awareness about consumer rights and needs. The events showed good effect in reassuring the local consumers.

A series of inspection tours were launched around the WCRD to check local commercial facilities, products and services to curb illegal business activities and urge rectifications of the problems discovered.

Publicity events took place at Suzhou Center, Wenxing Square, SIP Legal Culture Park and several other places on Mar 15, with a variety of on-site services to call on the local residents to be cautious against counterfeit and shoddy products, offer them knacks on customer rights protection, check on products for them, handle their complaints, and answer their inquiries.

In another move, SIPMSB and SIP Federation of Industry and Commerce (SIPFIC) jointly offered a lecture to SIPFIC members on the day to help them better understand laws and regulations concerning consumers’ rights so that they would maintain high sense of responsibility for consumers and high awareness of legal compliance during their business operations. The lecture was live-streamed in order that more enterprises can benefit from it.

On the other hand, SIPMSB officers visited a number of local businesses in an attempt to help them improve their customer feedback and complaint response mechanisms.
