SJTU (Suzhou) AI Research Institute holds 2nd council meeting

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Suzhou) AI Research Institute, a smart technology research organization jointly founded by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Suzhou government and SIP Administrative Committee in SIP, held its second council meeting on Jan 30, looking back on its work last year and revealing its future plans.

At the event, SJTU President Lin Zhongqin gave the participants a detailed account of the institute's efforts and achievements in building supercomputer systems, fostering advanced smart technologies, facilitating commercialization of research findings and supporting establishment of nationwide applicable industrial standards since its founding in 2017. He then offered advice for the institute's team building and resource integration in the future.

Li Yaping, deputy secretary of CPC Suzhou Committee and Suzhou mayor, spoke at the event, promising that SIP authorities will exert all efforts to help the institute strengthen its capabilities for R&D, innovation and industrialization of smart technologies.

After that, the council members shared their opinions and suggestions on the institute's current and future development, and voted through a series of new articles and a resolution about changes in the council membership.
