In the event at Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, SIP on Nov 4, Yu Minhong, or Michael Yu, founder and president of Chinese private educational service supplier New Oriental Education & Technology Group Inc, shared with the readers his views on life and reading based on his own experiences.

To people who want to follow his example to start their own businesses, Yu said people should do things that they feel happy to do and that they can count on to make a living as well.

Concerning reading, Yu said he urges himself to read 100 books each year and has been sticking to the goal even though he is busy in running his company after his graduation from Peking University about 30 years ago. He admitted that reading drives self-development and provokes thoughts on life.

"I can't get into sleep without a book on my bedside table," he said.

At last, the nicknamed "richest teacher in China" shared his opinions on life which he believes to be a road toward the right target via repeated reflections on the way. For him, he said the right target is to do something helpful for others.
