As response to SIP Administrative Committee's recent call on improving outdoor advertising facilities to ensure better consistency of cityscape and eliminate safety pitfalls, Xi'an Community in Huxi sub-district launched an inspection tour to the local facilities involved.

Starting early this month, the inspectors have checked many of the outdoor advertising boards and screens in the area, making records of them and urging rectifications of the problems discovered. For example, in a case concerning a restaurant's advertising board, the inspectors informed the restaurant owner of relevant laws and potential consequences and worked together with the sub-district's law enforcement officers in removing the board.

Moreover, the community plans to establish a long-term mechanism later to better supervise and manage facilities of the kind.
