Home library, a kind of home-based library free to the public, is growing more and more popular across SIP as a convenient way to offer the residents reading resources. Huxi sub-district now has one.

Huang Fang and her family members in Xinxin Community recently opened a library of the kind, offering a diversity of books such as classic literary works and history books owned by them or provided by SIP Dushu Lake Library for free.

Moreover, the library hosts various reading events such as parent-child reading sessions and classes on traditional culture, trying to offer the reading enthusiasts chances to interact with each other and gain more knowledge.

"My kid is a little bit shy, but he has made many good friends and developed strong interest in traditional operas and Suzhou-style folding fans in the library's events," a 7-year-old boy's mother said.
