The "Origin: Canglang Pavilion" Contemporary Art Exhibition, part of the 4th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale, kicked off at Jinji Lake Art Museum, SIP on May 19 and will last till Aug 29. On display are 45 domestic and overseas artists' works, which the visitors will find after they walk through the winding paths in an ancient Suzhou-style garden.

It is the biggest feature of the exhibition to display the art works in a traditional garden, which is actually an imitation of Canglang Pavilion, Suzhou's oldest garden dating back to the Song Dynasty (960 to 1279) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Wu Hongliang, the exhibition planner, said the design is to give the visitors a chance to appreciate the art works and explore life philosophies in a tranquil and elegant atmosphere.

It is noteworthy that data on visitors' heart rate variations will be collected through smart bracelets and made into a picture with the assistance of a psychologist and an artist.

Moreover, a forum was held last weekend, when the participants discussed the relations between traditional, modern and future art.
