10 teenagers declared "Little Life Scientists"

After five months' training, 20 teen entries to the "Little Life Scientists" cultivation program sponsored by Suzhou Association of Science and Technology and Suzhou Education Bureau attended the final assessment at Cold Spring Harbor Asia DNA Learning Center, SIP on May 19, and 10 of them were eventually declared "Little Life Scientists".

In the event, the teenagers demonstrated their learning results and answered the audiences' questions. The jurors commented on their performance and elected the top 10 winners.

Concurrently, the 2018-2019 "Little Life Scientists" training plan was released, including an eight-month training program for 70 fourth to ninth graders and a DNA barcoding learning program where the participants will learn to use short genetic markers in DNA to identify species.

Apart from that,SIP Youth & Children Center (SIPYCC) and a team of experts and scholars under a provincial program for grassroots science popularization signed a framework agreement for cooperation to build SIPYCC into a high quality science education base for youngsters.
