In response to the provincial government's call for reducing primary and middle school students' academic burden and banning after-school training programs that are adverse to youngsters' growth, SIP launched an inspection tour to the local tutoring institutions on May 15.

The inspection is designed to expose institutions with misconduct, including safety pitfalls, exaggerated advertising and operating without proper permits, while curbing programs that only focus on teaching students how to perform well in exams and competitions other than offering them individualized educational services and chances to pursue all-around development. Tutoring institutions found with these problems and school staff found to lure or pressure students to attend after-school training classes for financial benefits will be dealt with seriously and ordered to make corrections.

On top of that, an on-line platform has been launched for tutoring institutions to make reports on their qualifications and programs before June10.
