One of the events during the 2018 Jiangsu Elderlies' Sports Festival took place at SIP Central Park on May 13, when 53 teams consisting of 650 middle- and old-aged taiji (traditional Chinese shadowboxing) enthusiasts from the whole city gave wonderful performances.

The festival, launched in April, consists of a series of cultural and sports events across the province, trying to enrich elderlies' life and increase their awareness of health maintenance.

In the event, each team, uniformly dressed, demonstrated a slow sequence of taiji movements to music, showcasing the charm and essence of the traditional Chinese martial art. Many people who watched the performances showed interest in it.
