Children gain knowledge and skills at interesting classes

Communities at Hudong sub-district recently offered a variety of classes, aiming to enhance the local children's knowledge and hands-on skills in an interesting way.

At the class in International Waterfront Community on Apr 27, a group of children aged five to eight learnt housekeeping skills from the volunteers and competed in clothes folding and floor and table cleaning contests with newly learnt skills.

Donghu Linyu Community hosted a class on robots on Apr 27, when the children showcased excellent robot operation skills and creativity in a series of games.

In the event at Shidai Shangchengbei Community on Apr 27, young volunteers from the School of Chemistry, Biology and Materials Engineering at Suzhou University of Science and Technology imparted knowledge on garbage classification and waste recycling to the children based on pictures and comics and taught them to make handiworks with back number newspapers and leaflets.

In the class at Xinghu Community on May 6, with the volunteers' help and instruction, the children used modeling clay to make food ingredients like eggs, meat and vegetable needed for Beijing-style hot pot.
