The Bird's Nest Bookcrossing Program (BNBP), initiated by the Publicity Department of CPC SIP Working Committee in 2016 and organized by SIP Library for the purpose of increasing local residents' zest in reading, toured to Hanlin, Xinghai and Dushuhu primary schools and Hanlin and Hualin kindergartens on Mar 8.

The library staff started the event by telling the children stories based on two picture books. Then they taught them to make greeting cards and button flowers as gifts for their teachers and mothers on the International Women's Day (IWD) that fell on the same day.

The event ended with a donation, where the children put their books into the "Bird's Nest" made of cartons to share them with others.

According to the organizer, the program will go on among other local educational institutions over the rest of the year.
