The AEO Certification Supporting Platform jointly developed by SIP Administrative Committee and SIP Customs for trade facilitation was launched on Mar 7. Concurrently, an information session on customs policies and services was held at SIP Modern Building, attracting more than 300 enterprises.

AEO (authorized economic operator) is defined by the World Customs Organization (WCO) as "a party involved in the international movement of goods, in whatever function, that has been approved by, or on behalf of, a national Customs administration as complying with WCO or equivalent supply chain security standards". International trade players identified as AEOs can save both time and costs by avoiding some cumbersome customs inspections.

The platform is designed to help the local enterprises become AEOs so that they can enjoy related privileges in customs declaration and clearance home and abroad.

At the information session, the customs office explained in detail their policies and services related to business credit management, laying emphasis on AEO certification, and answered the enterprises’ inquiries.
