SIP's Haide Community has made remarkable achievements in helping children seek a comprehensive development that typically includes good virtues, wide knowledge and excellent hands-on ability.

One of its major moves is to organize various festival events such as the Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival celebrations that help increase children's understanding of traditional Chinese culture. For example, at a Lantern Festival party, the children learned to make lanterns, guessed lantern riddles and enjoyed rice glue balls (small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with sweet fillings) to experience the traditional ways of festival celebrations.

Another move is to offer the children opportunities to do their bit in social services. An example is a series of volunteer service events in the summer and winter vacations, when the youngsters helped beautify the environment in and outside a number of local residences.

Apart from that, the community's public-benefit classes like those on English language, reading, dancing and calligraphy also set a good example for helping children acquire new knowledge and skills as well as discover their potentials.
