SIP Customs recently announced to continue its system and mechanism reform this year by virtue of 20 measures initiated by its supervising authorities, aiming to create a better business environment for the local enterprises.

According to an official with knowledge of the reform plan, a major step is to enhance trade facilitation, including further standardizing and simplifying customs declaration and clearance procedures and gearing them into the national system to save enterprises both time and costs.

On the other hand, emphasis will be laid on allowing enterprises to play a bigger role in customs declaration and tax payment under the supervision of the customs office, with the purpose of further improving customs clearance efficiency.

In addition, great efforts will be made to roll out a series of good practices in the national pilot free trade zones to the area according to specific local conditions, market demand and enterprises' need.
