The finals of the 3rd SIP Competition of Plays Adapted from Children's Picture Books were held at Suzhou Dushu Lake Theatre on May 21. The competition started in March 2017 and gathered 45 works from 44 local kindergartens and primary schools.

Themed "Originality", the competition only accepted plays adapted from original picture books by authors in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, or from picture books entering into the 2016 SIP Children's Picture Book Creation Competition.

Many teams showcased plays adapted from indigenous Chinese picture books. The audiences were amazed by the ingenious conception, distinctive characters and well-designed stage rhythm, and had a better understanding of the importance of picture books in education. They also acknowledged the innovativeness of the competitors.
