Some Suzhou natives who attended Jiangsu Development Summit in Nanjing lately came back to their hometown for a visit after the summit. They were treated to Pingtan (a kind of storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect) and Kunqu Opera shows respectively staged on a sightseeing boat and at Suzhou Kunqu Opera School on May 21.

Famous Suzhou artists performed in the Pingtan show, which consisted of Nice Scenery of Suzhou, Meditation in Autumn, Butterflies in Love with Flowers, Mid-Autumn Festival and other classic episodes.

The Peony Pavilion, a Kunqu Opera show, was put on in real-life scenery, allowing the audiences to enjoy the feeling of getting involved in the story.
