The 4th Cultural and Art Festival at SIP's old Xietang Street will come to a close this weekend after a 23-day series of activities and events. Over the past three weeks, the Handicrafts and Creativity Fair has attracted a number of studios engaged in traditional handicrafts as intangible cultural heritage as well as stores with modern fashionable creative products. This weekend will witness another congregation of cultural and fashionable elements. Regardless of age and personal hobby, there will be something interesting for anyone at the fair.

It is scheduled that a lecture by Xu Zhongying on nut carving will be given in Zuowangshu Study on May 21, as the fourth of a series of lectures about intangible cultural heritage. Xu is a senior handicraft researcher, a handicraft art master and a representative inheritor of "Guangfu Nut Carving" that has been designated as intangible cultural heritage. She will talk about the history and present state of Suzhou-style nut carving, the charm of nut carving as well as how to choose a nut carving product, in addition to exchanging experience and ideas with the participants.
