Chen Xieyang, music director of Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZSO), was invited to lecture on "all Beethoven" at Suzhou Culture & Arts Center on March 19. Chen's lecture was the first one of the "Masters are here" pre-concert lectures of SZSO.

Chen, the first conductor to conduct all Beethoven's symphonies in China, shared his grasp of Beethoven with the audience in a witty and lighthearted speech.

2017 is the 190th anniversary of Beethoven's death and the first year of SZSO's founding. Chen and SZSO will present four "Chen Xieyang Conducts all Beethoven" serial concerts, playing several overtures, concertos and symphonies composed by Beethoven.

It is learned that the concerts for the first half of this year are respectively scheduled for March 25 at Suzhou Dushu Lake Theatre, April 22 at Suzhou Culture & Arts Center, April 29 at Taicang Grand Theatre and May 1 at Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
