At the final of "Home in Suzhou" Foreigners' Talent Show 2014 concluded on December 10, among 62 members of 14 participating teams, the contestants from Suzhou Industrial Park returned home with a bunch of awards and prizes, including 15-year-old Jack with his impression of Michael Jackson in "Dangerous", Kim Gilbertson with her own song "My Home in Beautiful SIP", and two programs presented by CPC Huxi Community Committee, "The World Customs" and "Arirang".

Jack wins the silver award for an impression of Michael Jackson
Jack came to SIP in 2009 with his parents and his mother Annie Tang is a neighborhood celebrity and enthusiast in charity programs. He is popular at charity performances and has accumulated rich stage experience. He thrilled the judge panel with his impression of Michael's space dance and won the silver award.

Kim Gilbertson wins the Best Creativity Award
Kim Gilbertson teaches at Suzhou Singapore International School and sang a song about SIP in a way different from Chinese national singing style. The 47-year-old music teacher came from South Dakota, the U.S., and used to be an opera singer. She settled down in SIP nine years ago and has since then taught kids singing. She said singing was more of a way to communicate feelings and thoughts than a talent.

Ryan M. Abul from the Philippines is also a teacher who came to Suzhou ten years ago. He and two colleagues, Jindra Urbanova and Grace, and the kids at kindergarten presented a dance "Arirang". "It makes me happy to be around kids and we can learn so much here in Suzhou," he said. "The kids and the parents are great."

The dancers of "The World Customs", also known as "A Glimpse of Paradise", come from Singapore, Czech, South Korea, the U.S., and India. They showed on stage their feelings and understanding about the city with diverse techniques of ballet, street dance, and modern dance.

The official statistics show that there are 17,000 foreigners living in SIP and they make the district an international community in a real sense.
