A young American vocalist from Chicago, Julia, gave a lecture on the afternoon of July 20 at Suzhou Culture & Arts Center to the participants of iSING! Suzhou International Young Artists Festival 2014. Julia talked on vocal arts and sang both Chinese and English songs. It was the fourth lecture arranged during the festival and the previous speakers included Hao Jiang Tian, an internationally acclaimed opera bass, and Gong Yuan, a guest professor from China Central Conservatory of Music.

Michele Cussom, a student of session 2014, was especially impressed by "River, Flower, and Moonlight on a Spring Night". "I know the lyric is an ancient Chinese poem and Julia sang it beautifully. I've learned a lot from her singing and hope I can sing as well as she does today at our graduation performance."

iSING! Suzhou International Young Artists Festival 2014 lasts from June 27 to July 27, during which 40 young singers from China, the US, Canada, Italy, France, Netherlands, Chile, and Croatia will receive special trainings and give performances.
