The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced at the press conference held on March 27 in Dortmund, Germany, that Suzhou would host the 53rd World Table Tennis Championships in 2015.

Suzhou delegation is celebrating the success of bidding at the venue of ITTF general meeting

The decision was made at five past ten on the morning of March 27 local time during a annual general meeting and Suzhou is the fifth Chinese city to host the singles of world table tennis championships, following Beijing (1961), Tianjin (1995), Shanghai (2005), and Guangzhou (2008). It is also the only Chinese host city at prefecture level which has accumulated sufficient experience by hosting three China Open tournaments from 2009 through 2011.

The World Table Tennis Championships 2015 is scheduled from April 26 to May 3 at Suzhou International Expo Center.
