Communities in SIP’s Dongshahu sub-district recently carried out a series of campaigns in the hope of improving local environment and increasing the residents’ awareness of environmental protection. Below are two examples.

 

In the event in Xingchenbei Community on Nov 19, a group of youngsters watched a video on environmental protection, gained a better understanding of plastics’ impacts on environment through a PowerPoint presentation given by the community staff, and drew pictures themed environmental protection on recycle bags.

 

In the event in Jinghua Community on Nov 21, the local “river chiefs” who are in charge of regular inspections over local watercourses worked alongside several volunteers to check and record the conditions of water in a local river section and the sewage discharge systems of businesses located near the water.
